Morre Takashi Iwade, artista e designer da série Panzer Dragoon da Sega

De acordo com uma postagem no Instagram de James Mielke, diretor de criação do estúdio Tigertron e fundador do BitSummit, o principal evento de desenvolvimento de jogos independentes do Japão, o veterano artista da Sega, Takashi Iwade, faleceu após uma breve doença.

Iwade trabalhou na Sega por mais de 25 anos, juntando-se à empresa japonesa como artista sênior em abril de 1993.

Seu trabalho inclui várias participações na série Panzer Dragoon, além de ser um dos artistas principais na franquia Yakuza.

Mielke, que tinha uma relação pessoal com Iwade, comentou na rede social:

“É com muita tristeza para mim, para seus muitos amigos nas várias equipes Panzer Dragoon (e colegas da Sega, é claro) e, acima de tudo, sua família de coração partido, que depois de uma breve doença, Iwade-san faleceu repentinamente na semana passada“.

When I was researching and conducting interviews for my extensive #PanzerDragoonSaga feature on @polygondotcom last year, one of the most helpful and enthusiastic developers I met was Takashi Iwade, one of the lead enemy designers on Panzer Dragoon Saga, and one of the few developers who worked on most of the games in the series. When the Panzer Dragoon Orta team reunited last year for the 15th anniversary of the game, to celebrate its HD rerelease on Xbox One, Iwade-san invited both my wife and I to the gathering, which was a real honor as we were the only outsiders present. He was also the key individual who cheerfully helped me fulfill my nerd dreams and get all of my Panzer Dragoon stuff signed by all of the present team members, signing all of my game covers, and including that amazing Orta-themed Xbox that I’ve posted here before. + In my brief time knowing him, he was not only a cheerful and kind person to me, he also helped introduce me to many other team members to interview for my Panzer feature. I am sincerely grateful for this. + It is with great sadness to myself, his many friends on the various close-knit Panzer Dragoon teams (and current SEGA colleagues of course), and most of all his heartbroken family, that after a brief illness Iwade-san suddenly passed away last week. It goes without saying that he leaves us far too soon. + Iwade-san, thank you for everything you shared with me in our brief time knowing each other.
